Both main-event fighters arrived at T-Mobile Arena a couple of hours ago and are now in their respective dressing rooms making their final preparations. Garcia appears to have been keeping to himself for the most part, while Benn has had a couple of rather accomplished visitors stopping by: Teófimo López and Terence Crawford. Here’s a look backstage as the final minutes tick down toward Garcia’s first WBC welterweight title defense.
Here’s how Garcia and Benn measure up ahead of tonight’s main event. Garcia is the younger man by a year and brings the heavier hands on paper, with 20 knockouts in 25 victories compared with Benn’s 14 in 25. Both men came in comfortably below the welterweight limit on Friday: Benn weighed 146lb, his lightest since June 2019, while Garcia tipped the scales at 145.5lb, his lightest since facing Devin Haney in April 2024. Garcia enters with a 25-2 record and the WBC title, while Benn is 25-1 and fighting at 147lb for the first time in more than four years.
